The annals of ‘Lamborghini Automobili'officially begins in 1963. Nonetheless, we should consider the far-off sources of the occasion, and they are the roots of Ferruccio Lamborghini. Born in 1916, that ready, impetuous, strong-willed Taurus was the major figure in the foundation of the business and the first stages of their remarkable history.

By the full time he determined to build a factory of luxury activities vehicles, Ferruccio was already a very rich man. In the time scale subsequent Earth Conflict II, he established his tractor manufacturer, which he presented with power and perseverance, making a key position of guide in that industry. Different businesses followed, and he accumulated his bundle at the perfect time, before his fiftieth birthday. By early Sixties, Lamborghini was a robust and effective man who knew exactly what he wanted, but when he explained he'd construct a brilliant sports vehicle to compete with Ferrari, many people thought he was mad. Creating that type of vehicle was seen as an unexplainable extravagance, a hazardous leap at night, and anything that will squander his bundle without actually turning a profit.

He started taking care of that project in late 1962, and by May 1963 he'd presently launched ‘ Automobili Ferruccio Lamborghini ', purchasing a large plot of area in Sant'Agata Bolognese, about 25 kilometres from Bologna, to construct a brand new big and ultramodern factory. Due to the experience he had gained together with his others, he was in a position to collection up the very best facilities for his purpose: a really functional framework that, at the time, was unrivalled in its field. The enormous and well-let central building was adjacent to any office making, so the administration can continually monitor the production situation. This is suitable for Lamborghini, who would often roll-up his shirtsleeves and head to work on the cars privately when he saw something that wasn't performed only the way he wanted.

The first model was naturally put out rapidly, considering the fact that Lamborghini had only a few months between enough time he decided to build the factory and the time collection for its standard presentation. The function which was opted for for this is the era's conventional rendezvous, the Turin Car Display planned for the start of December 1963. Since Lamborghini had a specific notion of what he wanted, he did not waste any moment trying to find the best people. For the motor, which needed to be the best V12 created in the region – and therefore on the planet – he instantly turned to Giotto Bizzarrini, who had designed a few of Ferrari's latest engines. For the remaining vehicle and to set up generation, he hired two encouraging small technicians, Giampaolo Dallara and Giampaolo Stanzani. This is a considerable endeavour and time was short. None the less, once the 350 GTV, was shown it had been a masterpiece.

In hindsight, 1964 was a fantastic year. The 350 GT was born. The immediate and almost inevitable offshoot of the 350 GT, of which 120 were created, was the 400 GT. Its motor was risen up to a four-litre product and it presented the initial gearbox developed in-house by Lamborghini. Based initially on the two-seater human body, that was later resulted in the 400 GT 2+2 with two occasional chairs behind both typical types, the 400 GT achieved the respectable over all manufacturing figure of 273 units.
